The rest of the story goes like this. I was afflicted with 14 of the 15 Adverse Childhood Experiences. We are talking abandonment, abuse, violence, substance abuse, neglect, poverty… if you’ve ever worried about something at night, I probably experienced it when I was a kid.

I had a vision for myself as sharp and focused as a hungry falcon locked onto a pigeon. Through faith, gratitude, and informed action, I turned all of my tragedies into determination.
